David Gardner

Antiques Specialist, Primary Antique Buyer

David Gardner has been buying and selling antiques for the last 15 years, including the first piece he refinished years before. "As I recall, it was an English library table, which I really hated to sell! You see, it had become sentimental..."

David's quest for antiques has been a passion ever since. Whether scouring the flea markets of Belgium and France...or finding an old barn in the middle of the German country side filled with painted and waxed pine from Eastern Europe and Scandinavia, David has gained an appreciation and feel for the Old World construction and traditions.

Years in the Tulsa antique market have honed David's eye and skill as a buyer of everything from primitive pine to the highly carved Henry II and beautifully styled proportions of Louis XVI.

David started his career in Tulsa in the heart of midtown, in the vibrant Cherry Street district at a respected design firm where he worked. It was here that he learned more about the antiques from England and France, as well as the select group of manufactures who are producing new furniture in the old ways. David has also had the opportunity to own an antique store, albeit a "postage stamp" compared to the vast showroom of Lou's Antiques, but he acquired a sense of what his customers sought, and the quality they demanded, before coming to Lou's almost seven years ago. The experience was invaluable in teaching him the necessity of "buying right" and selling more than just a product. He learned that it is the story, the history, the whole experience that is important.
